| The Natural Park extends along the thyrennian coastline in between Viareggio and Livorno on a surface of 23.000 hectars, lying principally in the comunes of Pisa, Vecchiano, San Giuliano Terme, Massarosa and Viareggio. Even the forests of San Rossore, Coltano, Migliarino, Tombolo, Tirrenia, Marina di Pisa and the mediterranean bush of Lucca and the lake of Massaciuccoli are belonging to the territory of the park. You can find all varieties of coastal sceneries, marshes of great interest, extended beaches, wonderful pinewoods, mixed forests, ilex, swampy lands with rare flora and fauna. You have the possibility to participate on natural excursions organized and guided directly by the management of the park, with a minimum of 20 persons, or even individually. Further on it is even possible to organize excursions on horseback or with bicycles, on foot, with coaches or buses. In various parts of the park there are even possibilities for canoe rides, boat rides, you can find bicycle tracks, educational paths, a natural museum and an ornitological observatory. In Tirrenia and Marina di Pisa there are equipped picknicksites, campings, arenas, beaches, riding-schools, gulf links, sporting centers. |
